It’s been a big summer at Zumo, and we’ve loved being able to share crypto with more of you through our latest Refer and Share programme - this time offering you rewards in our latest in-app crypto, Bitcoin SV. Thank you to you all, and we hope you’re getting comfortable with crypto!
Of course, it all kicked off with our £10,000 Bitcoin SV giveaway, and today we’re privileged to be joined by Chris and his wife Joy, who were this time’s lucky winners.
Chris, Joy, welcome to the blog! Can you tell me a bit about yourself - where you're from, what you do, what got you into crypto in the first place?
Chris: I’ve lived in Nottinghamshire all my life ... I'm a technical/development lab engineer repairing electronic equipment and developing new concept designs. I’ve always been interested in crypto, however it’s only recently I’ve actively been investing.
I think that’s definitely something a lot of us can identify with. Maybe tell us a bit more about what your crypto journey’s been like and what lessons you’ve learnt along the way?
I've been actively investing in crypto for the past 6 months now. It all started as a game between four of us friends, where we each invested £500 and the challenge was to see who could make the most money (or who lost the most money!) over a 3-month period. We each had our own ideas of how to succeed: in the beginning, we were buying and selling all types of crypto, making and losing money along the way and definitely paying a lot in transfer fees! But as time moved on, the four of us realised it’s not a game anymore: crypto is the future and it needs to be taken seriously.
We’re so happy to hear that! So how long have you been a Zumo app user and what made you choose Zumo in particular?
I signed up with Zumo at the beginning of July. After reading online reports, it quickly became apparent that Zumo was a customer focused company with excellent customer support and based within the UK.
I should say, all four of us had issues with the original crypto company we started out with, because the UK banks stopped allowing money to be transferred to the company and the company then stopped us removing our money to our UK Banks. I don't want to name this company but it rhymes with Finance. One thing is for sure - all four of us are no longer involved with that company!
Zumo is a breath of fresh air, and realistically I had already decided that crypto was a long-term investment, so it makes sense to invest with a customer focused company like Zumo.
Now that you’ve built up your account, any plans on what you want to do with your winnings longer term?
I look at my winnings as part of a long-term investment plan. I'm getting on a bit now in life and I’m looking forward to retiring to that tropical oasis with nice weather, white sands and turquoise sea.
Last but not least, do you have a message you'd like to share with the Zumo/crypto community?
Yes - don't get upset if you see your crypto go down in price, remember the time when the crypto jumped up in price. Enjoy and invest, but remember only invest if you have money to do so ... I believe crypto is a long-term investment.
